12.2009 - Najib Abboud Inteviewed for Canadian TV News Show
Abboud was interviewed about the World Trade Center tower collapses for a documentary on alternate theories.
New York, NY - Weidlinger principal Dr. Najib Abboud was interviewed by journalist Bob McKeown for a documentary on World Trade Center conspiracy theories (“The Unofficial Story”). It was produced by “The Fifth Estate,” Canada's premier investigative documentary program and aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) News Channel on November 27, 2009.
Abboud was a Principal Investigator for Weidlinger’s multidisciplinary study of the tower collapses, which received the top U.S. engineering award in 2004 (the National Grand Conceptor Award of the American Council of Engineering Companies). The study, conducted for Silverstein Properties, concluded that the damage caused by the impact of the airliners and the resulting fires were sufficient to result in the complete destruction of both buildings. Weidlinger’s published report, peer reviewed by professionals, has been presented on numerous occasions to technical audiences, who have endorsed its methods and conclusions.
In the taped interview posted on the CBC website (but not included in the broadcast), Abboud describes why the buildings fell and what he thinks about some of the alternate theories surrounding their collapse. He explains how the fires, airplane impacts, and towers’ original design, all of which Weidlinger has modeled and analyzed, produced the observable sequence of events.
